Can i reduce my eye power?are gas permeable contact lenses that effective?

im suffering from myopia..my power is -1.5 & -2.0..im 15 yrs old…i want to reduce my eye power…what sort of nutrition should i take for it..and i want to avoid LASIK surgery but i read about the gas permeable lenses ..so are they really effective??are they expensive?(can i have information about that) Is there any other method to reduce eye power?
And i also wear Bausch & Lomb contact lenses..

As you can see from the answers by the two gentlemen above, the information you’re looking for will not come from eye doctors, optometrists or opticians.
I agree that nutrition is irrelevant, but visual training methods may be of great help. If they actually don’t work, how can the above gentlemen explain my improvement from -3.75 to -1.75 (so far) ?
Of course these are thing that require a lot of time (several months) and patience and I agree that the old Bates method is not really effective, but that is NOt the only method. Things have changed and improved since Bates’s times (early ‘900) but unfortunately eye doctors/optometrist are not interested in those things. They don’t know them, yet they despise them. How can they judge something they don’t know ? I repeat: I’m not talking about the old Bates method. Wake up,eye doctors and optometrists, many things happened since Bates.

It’s sad that neither of the above gentlemen explained to you that the positive effects of gas permeable lenses are debatable at the very least. Gas perm.lenses simply modify the shape of the cornea (much less than ortho-k but in a similar way), but myopia is not due to the cornea (except very few cases). It’s instead caused by your eyeball getting longer and that is not affected by the use of gas perm lenses. The cornea is slightly reshaped into a mild corrective lens and that’s why myopia appears to slow down. Actually myopia continues to get worse (the eyeball gets longer) but eyesight appears to stabilize because of the effect of the gas perm lens on the cornea.
Also remember that the use of full prescription glasses/lenses will block any improvement, no matter which visual training method you follow

Unlike sunglasses or self-darkening lenses, which block some light, AR-coated glasses actually transmit more light – about 8 percent more. This improves vision at night and help…
